Fergal Mc Grath will step down as Managing Director of Druid in January to seek and pursue a new management challenge. The position will be advertised on this site in the coming weeks. Fergal has worked with Druid for four years. ‘I initially signed up for three years back in 2002 when Druid’s key objective was to build and develop the organisation. After a very fruitful four years, I feel the time is now right for me to move on’ said Fergal. ‘I will, however, continue to make time available to oversee the refurbishment of Druid’s premises at Chapel Lane, due to commence in September 2007’. Druid Chairman Seamus O’Grady said ‘The Board regrets his departure from Druid and wishes to pay tribute to Fergal for the energy and professionalism which he brought to the Company during his time as Managing Director. Fergal, through his knowledge, experience, dedication and commitment has played a key role in the expansion and consolidation of the organisation.’ Artistic Director, Garry Hynes said she had enjoyed working with Fergal over the four years. “He played a major part in creating the organisational structures and environment in which the Druid artistic team could produce high quality theatre for audiences at home and abroad. During Fergal’s time with Druid, the company increased the number of productions presented annually and toured extensively nationally and internationally. It’s been a great time for us all and we wish Fergal the very best in his future career.’ Before joining Druid, Fergal was General Manager of Galway Arts Festival (1992-2002) and prior to that he was a General Manager with Fyffes Plc (1985-1992). |
