Continuing with their extensive touring of Tom Murphy’s Conversations on a Homecoming, Druid performed at the 1987 Festival of Sydney. On their return to Ireland, a further Irish tour began – this time of Irish prisons – followed by a final return to the Druid Lane Theatre in February 1987.
The time is the early seventies and the gathering together of old friends has been prompted by the return home of one of them after an absence of ten years. It becomes clear in the course of the evening that the years have wrought changes in all of them, particularly in regard to their attitudes to the absent of the pub, J.J., a man who had greatly influenced them in the past.
