We’re delighted to hear that three of our FUEL15 artists will take their work to the next level over the coming weeks and months.
Róisín Stack, who worked on the development of an adaptation of a Pádraic O’Conaire story, My Poet Dark and Slender, during her FUEL residency in 2015, will stage a full production of the piece at this year’s Galway Theatre Festival. The experimental production tells the story of a woman’s brazen affair with a mysterious poet and features original composition, mask and choreography. It runs at the Mick Lally Theatre, Druid Lane from Friday 29th April to Monday 2nd May.
The Theatre Room collective that took over the Mick Lally Theatre for a week of bustling activity in December will once again lead a band of theatre makers through the process of making original one act plays, this time as part of Galway Theatre Festival. This Theatre Room event is a walking tour of pop-up performances happening around the city on Monday 2nd May.
Fionnuala Gygax presented a work-in-progress of ‘Hostel 16’ about the experience of the Direct Provision system and has been busy developing the work since. The production will be staged as part of Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival this September.
We’re thrilled to see all of our FUEL artists continuing to develop their work and we’re delighted to have played some part in their development.
Druid gratefully acknowledges the support of St. Anthony & Claddagh’s Credit Union.
Details for FUEL16 will be announced in the coming months.
