Produced in association with the Abbey Theatre, A Whistle in the Dark introduces Michael Carney, an Irishman living in Coventry with his young wife, Betty. With ambitions of decent work and happy family life, he is relentlessly pursued by the past he has so desperately sought to leave behind. He has given lodgings to his three brothers as they establish themselves in England, but far from showing him gratitude for his generosity, he is treated with derision and terrorised in his own home.
