Druid is delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall to the Mick Lally Theatre for a short preview performance of DruidShakespeare during her visit to Galway this month. The historic visit will come just days after the opening of DruidShakespeare, an ambitious production marking the company’s 40th year.

‘Having been a guest a Windsor last year, I’m delighted to return the hospitality!’ says Artistic Director Garry Hynes.

DruidShakespeare tells the story of three of England’s kings – Richard II, Henry IV and Henry V – so there will be royalty both on and off the stage on Druid Lane on Tuesday 19th May.

DruidShakespeare opens on Sunday 17th May and runs until 30th May before touring Ireland and performing as part of Lincoln Center Festival, New York.
