Events Happening in Druid Theatre in October

It’s a busy time in Galway with lots of great events taking place over the next few weeks. We’re delighted to be hosting some of these events in our theatre on Druid Lane. Full details below.

Galway Theatre Festival – October 1 – 7

Now in its fifth year, Galway Theatre Festival is taking place in venues right across the city.

Lady Grew presents Sweet Pang is Innocent

Sweet Pang is Innocent. But don’t tell the judge! She has been a madam, transvestite, inventor, pole dancer, rapper, and believer in lies. A prankster heart beating rivers of gold. She’ll wink, sigh, and wink again, then you realize you’ve stopped thinking- start… and miss her sigh. Upside-down, Pang sings. She beats the drums and tells you her stories through song. Hear Pang’s rap! Hear Pang tap! Will she fool the judge? Can she convince him that she’s kissed and cut-as cursed and bled as them all? Who is Sweet Pang, and what drove her to assume these aliases? Sweet Pang, Sweet Pang, This is your soundtrack, what is your scene?

Date & Time: Friday October 5th & Saturday 6th at 10pm
Book Tickets Here – €12 / €10

24 Hour Theatre

For our fifth year we have presented ourselves with a challenge: to write, cast, direct and perform four plays in 24 hours. With the help of Dramsoc NUIG, Parley artists, GTF companies past and present and the vast array of local talent in our midst, we are confident that we will rise to victory!

Druid Lane Theatre will host this madness on the final evening of the festival. We will need your help suggesting play titles so keep your eyes on our Facebook & Twitter pages in late September and come along to watch the lid get blown off this creative climax.

H20 – Helios Theater, Germany (Ages 2 – 4)

Water – we seem to know everything about this element.

But when we take a closer look at it, it’s full of surprises and it’s still a mystery to scientists up to the present day.

The power of water is enormous, sputtering life andsparkling joy. Water can take on many forms; as a melting ice- block, a shimmering fountain, a refreshing drink or a sweeping wave. It is an element of sound or reflector of light. It inspires performers and audiences alike and generates a poetry that reflects the wonder of life. In H2O, you get to experience it in its many forms… it starts with one single drop…
