L-R: Lizzie Nunnery (writer) with actors Janet Moran, Declan Conlon, Druid Literary Manager, Thomas Conway and actor Ger Kelly during a workshop of her play, To Have to Shoot Irishmen.
Druid invites you to attend a public reading this Saturday November 6th at 3.15pm in Áras na Mac Léinn/Student Centre (beside the College Bar) at NUI Galway. The reading is being held as part of 1916 and After, a symposium co-ordinated by The Moore Institute, and made possible by The Research Support Fund, both at NUI Galway.
To Have to Shoot Irishmen is a play in development by Lizzie Nunnery, commissioned by Druid, that brings into focus the events around the murder of Frances Sheehy-Skeffington during the Easter Rising in Dublin in April 1916. Lizzie is an award winning playwright from Liverpool (Unprotected, Intemperance) and a singer/songwriter whose debut album Company of Ghosts was released earlier this year.
Actors participating in the reading are Declan Conlon, Ger Kelly and Janet Moran.
