Additional activities will be taking place during the Cork run of DruidMurphy – Plays by Tom Murphy, as part of an exciting ‘Druid-in-Residence’ programme which will run from September 14 – 21, 2012 at The Everyman.
These events will run in conjunction with our productions of DruidMurphy: Conversations on a Homecoming and A Whistle in the Dark which will run on alternate evenings from Tuesday September 11th – Friday September 21st at The Everyman. There will also be a double bill of both plays on Saturday September 15th.
Exhibition
The Everyman will host an exhibition of posters from Druid productions that have been presented in the Everyman since 2006. In addition, there will be a selection of posters and production photos from Druid productions of Tom Murphy’s work. The exhibition will run throughout the run and is free to attend.

Acting Workshops
As part of an ongoing commitment to the training of and engagement with professional theatre artists based in Cork, the Everyman will host a dedicated professional workshop. Acting Murphy is open to actors and directors and is facilitated by Druid’s Literary Manager, Thomas Conway. The participating actors are Beth Cooke, Marty Rea and Eileen Walsh. Student Workshops
Actors from the DruidMurphy cast will visit secondary schools and give a workshop on “A Whistle in The Dark” in advance of students attending a performance of the show on Friday 21 September at 11am – early booking is advised as there will be a limited number of workshops. The participating actors are Aaron Monaghan, Garrett Lombard, Rory Nolan, Gavin Drea and Michael Glenn Murphy.
Culture Night
To celebrate Culture Night on Friday September 21, there will be a screening of “Sing on Forever” – a documentary on the life and work of Tom Murphy, directed by Alan Gilsenan and produced by Parzival Productions (Time to be confirmed)
