Druid Announces Full Schedule for International Tour

Following a hugely successful Irish tour, this November Druid’s 20th anniversary revival of Martin McDonagh’s The Beauty Queen of Leenane will embark on a 5-month international tour across the US before traveling to the prestigious Hong Kong Arts Festival. Taking in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Pittsburgh and Michigan, the production will have traversed three continents, entertained thousands of audiences and been performed over 100 times by April 2017.

Over the last 40 years Druid has toured extensively throughout the US and this year will mark Druid’s BAM debut as part of the 16 week coast-to-coast US tour. The Brooklyn Academy of Music presents the best of cutting edge, contemporary performance and The Beauty Queen of Leenane will be a season highlight. The US run will be followed by an additional 5 performances at the Hong Kong Arts Festival over St. Patrick’s weekend.

Commenting on this year’s touring plans, Artistic Director, Garry Hynes said “I am very proud of our jam-packed schedule for the next five months, playing in some of the most prestigious theatres across America and onto Hong Kong Arts Festival. We look forward to introducing tens of thousands of new American and Hong Kong audiences to Martin McDonagh’s darkly comic masterpiece.”
