We’re delighted to welcome back the Cúirt International Festival of Literature to Druid Lane Theatre for this year’s Festival which runs from April 12 – 17, 2011. A number of events will take place daily in the theatre from April 13 – 17.

Wednesday April 13
12pm: The Launch of Read Me Live – Cuirt has partnered with festivals from Slovenia, Lithuania and Italy to develop relationships between writers from these countries and Irish writers. The project seeks to promote and showcase different literary genres and styles through a series of live readings involving a mix of writers. Admission Free
1pm – Read Me Live: Galway writer, Elaine Feeney, and Slovenian writer Goran Vojnovic. Admission Free
3.30pm – Cúirt/Over the Edge Showcase: Sarah Clancy, Nicola Griffin & Paul Casey
Thursday April 14
1pm – Publishing Discussion: What does it take to become a published writer? Cúirt asks four major publishers of poetry and fiction – Neil Astley, Jessie Lendennie, Brendan Barrington and Alex Bowler.
3.30pm – Read Me Live: Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Antanas A Jonynas and Giuseppe O. Longo. Admission Free
10pm – Siamsa na Cúirte: Writer, Gearóid Denvir, and Galway Country and Western Performer John Beag O’Flatharta

6pm: Bás Tongue: The death of the Irish language and the challenge of keeping it alive. A bilingual reading of a play exploring the fragile soul of Gaeilge starring Manchán Magan and directed by Tom Creed
