FUEL 2016 - New Ten Month Programme Launched

Druid is now accepting applications for FUEL Artist Residency 2016. This year’s residency will differ from previous programmes in that it runs over ten months (September 2016 to June 2017) and offers a range of resources to artists at any stage of their career.

What is being offered:
• Monthly meetings with Druid Mentors
• An initial week-long development period in the Mick Lally Theatre to shape a new piece of work
• Access to office facilities during key development periods
• A stipend of €2,000
• Further access to the Mick Lally Theatre to develop work
• Production support for an internal work-in-progress or a public showing of a new piece within the residency period
• Professional development workshops tailored to artists
• Selected participants will be recognised as Associate Artists of the Mick Lally Theatre

Eligibility Criteria:
• Druid invites applications from writers, directors, performers, creatives or independent organisations involved in theatre or performance
• Applicants must be resident in the West of Ireland (Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Leitrim, Sligo, Limerick or Clare)
• Applicants must be available to base themselves in Galway for at least one week in either November or December 2016
• Applicants must have been involved in the realisation of no less than one theatre production in 2014, 2015 or 2016 (outside of school, college or other educational environment)
• Applicants must have a stage worthy, well thought-out idea ready for a development period in November – December 2016
• The proposed piece must NOT have been previously staged by the applicant
• Applicants must be available for at least two professional development workshops between January and March 2017 (advance notice of dates will be given)
• Applicants must be available for either a work-in-progress showing of their piece or a public discussion about the FUEL 2016 programme in April or May 2017 (advance notice will be given)

Application Guidelines:
• Applications will close on Thursday 8th September at 5pm. Please note: late applications cannot be accepted
• Successful applicants may be called for an interview in person or by phone, in mid September.
• All sections of the application must be filled out. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
